A Statement of Purpose

Now that we have more people looking at this blog regularly I thought I would resurrect an old post from Jon. Let's see if we can get this accomplished before the next tech meeting on August 9th.

Hi all,

At the sound team meeting this past Saturday those of us who were there began to work on a Purpose statement for the tech ministry. We looked at the passages in Philippians and Colossians that you see here on this blog and also thought about trying to make a statement that is short, to the point and memorable. This is a work in progress and we want people to give input and interact about this so we all have ownership in it.

Some of the key words and phrases we locked onto were humility, diligence, technical arts and serving Christ. Here is what we have so far:

Employing the technical arts with diligence and humility to make the message of Christ clear.

I'd love to hear the thoughts of those who were not able to make the meeting. Is this something that clearly sets out what we're to be about as we serve Christ with the technical arts?

I like this statement it is clear and to the point. Should the beginning be worded "We will strive to employ the..."?
Just a thought.

I can easily remember the combo word we made at the meeting - "Humiligence". It reminds me of our goals of humility and diligence and the verses that we chose.

I think that would be a good line for under the CBC tech logo on a polo...
"serving with humiligence"
