Welcome to the CBC Tech Blogspot

Hello all,
This will be the new format for the weekly sound crier e mails. Hopefully this will better facilitate comments on some of these articles. This is a restricted Blog and only those invited can read or comment on articles.
I will be reposting the first four articles. Feel free to comment on them. I plan to find a new article every week and post it on Monday so we all have enough time throughout the week to read and comment on them.
At the sound meeting held today we had talked about creating a live recording with the X-Y MP3 recorder and e mailing it to everyone or posting it somewhere for download. The intent was to be able to constructively critique the mixes from week to week to try and create a more unified sound to the CBC service. I hope to be able to find a way to post those items here but have not found a way as of yet. If any of you know html or how I could do that please let me know.
I am excited for this next step in tech team unity. If there is any specific post or topic you would like to see on here please let me know and I will try to find one that fits the need.
In Christ,
Dan

I may have found an acceptable way to share sound files. I have subscribed to Box.net. It is an online file storage site. We can post the files there and link to them through the blog. The site is limited by a 10MB upload at a time with a max of 1GB of storage. If anyone knows of a better resource please let me know.

This looks fantastic! This should be a neat tool for sharing info.

You might check into quick time. I've seen other sites where when you click on a music file it just opens as quick time. Just a thought.

Also, if blogger doesn't end up working the best for this, you could check out wordpress too. I'm not familiar with it all that much but have heard it's nice.

I think this will work. I will be putting up a post later today with a link to files from Sunday evenings service.
The XY recorder didn't work at all. The only thing it recorded were the echoes from the room. So for the evening service I recorded straight from the board into the Marantz unit. We will just have to figure out the logistics with the recording people to be able to get the service every week.
